When constructing a brand new recreation facility isn’t an option, what’s the next best thing to do?
While some clients are fortunate enough to secure funding for a new building, others must face into the likelihood that they will need to make modifications to an existing facility to meet current needs. Such was the case with Evergreen Middle School (photo above; Central Valley School District, Spokane Valley), who retained ALSC Architects to design a remodel and expansion of their existing athletic facilities rather than build new.
“Remodel, Renovate or Expand” (Stephen Springs, Athletic Business, August 2018) provides a practical approach to improving your recreation facility by identify goals, determine the facility’s needs and being able to justify all decisions.
